GST Fluorometric Activity Assay Kit
Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are a family of enzymes that play a crucial role in cellular detoxification. They catalyze the conjugation of the thiol group of reduced glutathione (GSH) to electrophilic xenobiotics and endogenous compounds, facilitating their elimination and protecting cells from oxidative stress and toxic damage.
The GST Fluorometric Activity Assay Kit uses an MCB probe to detect GST activity. The free MCB probe itself is non-fluorescent. In the presence of active GST, the probe can react with glutathione (reduced or oxidized form), generating a blue fluorescent product (Ex/Em = 390/478 nm). The resulting fluorescence intensity is directly proportional to the GST enzyme activity in the sample.
