Glutathione Assay Kit (Fluorometric)
Glutathione is a tripeptide formed by glutamic acid (Glu), cysteine (Cys), and glycine (Gly). Glutathione is mainly found in cells in two forms, namely reduced glutathione (GSH) and oxidized glutathione disulfide (GSSG). Reduced glutathione is highly reducible and is the main active form in cells (accounting for >90%). Oxidized glutathione is an oxidation product, and its proportion is an important marker of oxidative stress.
The Glutathione Assay Kit (Fluorometric) provides a simple and sensitive assay for detecting glutathione concentration in cells, tissues and biological fluids. This kit uses an MCB probe to detect. Free MCB probe is virtually non-fluorescent, but MCB can react with reduced or oxidized glutathione and emit blue fluorescence (Ex/Em=390/478 nm). The kit can detect both reduced and oxidized glutathione, and is more sensitive than the DTNB assay.
