Fosmanogepix (APX001) is a broad-spectrum drug against invasive fungal infections.Fosmanogepix (APX001) targets a conserved enzyme required for the localization of glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored mannoproteins in fungi, and this inhibition prevents the proper localization of cell-wall mannoproteins, which impairs cell-wall integrity, biofilm formation, germ tube formation and fungal growth. Can be used in the study of invasive fungal infectious diseases.
