Featured Products
Estradiol 17-(β-D-Glucuronide) (sodium salt) (CAS: 15087-02-2) is a glucuronide conjugate of estradiol that serves as a substrate for multidrug resistance protein 2 (MRP2), an ATP-binding cassette transporter localized at the hepatocyte apical membrane. MRP2 mediates ATP-dependent, osmotically-sensitive transport of this compound, as demonstrated in vitro using membrane vesicles from HeLa cells transfected with MRP2. In animal models, administration of estradiol 17-(β-D-Glucuronide) acutely inhibits bile flow and bile acid secretion, causing dose-dependent cholestasis reversible within hours. This compound represents a useful tool in investigating hepatic transport mechanisms and drug-induced cholestasis.
