Ertapenem sodium

Ertapenem sodium (CAS No.: 153773-82-1) is a long-acting broad-spectrum β-lactam of the carbapenem subclass, inspired by microbial natural products and obtained through semisynthesis, suitable for antibacterial mechanism analysis and compound benchmark controls in biomedical research and drug discovery; it inhibits the transpeptidation reaction and peptidoglycan cross-linking during bacterial cell wall biosynthesis by acylating penicillin-binding proteins, producing concentration- and time-dependent bactericidal effects and inducing a secondary autolytic response.
