Besifovir (CAS No.: 441785-25-7) is a novel and effective acyclic nucleoside phosphonate compound, primarily used for the treatment of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of HBV DNA polymerase, thereby blocking the viral replication process. In vitro studies show that Besifovir exhibits inhibitory activity against HBV in the nanomolar to low micromolar range. In cell and animal models, Besifovir is typically evaluated via oral administration, and the doses or concentrations used in experiments generally depend on the experimental design and research objectives. In addition, the prodrug LB80380 of Besifovir is rapidly absorbed and converted to the active form Besifovir after oral administration; LB80380 is not detected in plasma, indicating good bioavailability.
