Azvudine

Azvudine (RO-0622) is a potent nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor with antiviral activity.Azvudine exhibits potent inhibition of HIV-1 (ECs ranging from 0.03 to 6.92 nM) and HIV-2 (ECs ranging from 0.018 to 0.025 nM).Azvudine inhibits NRTI-resistant strains of viruses. Azvudine is a click chemistry. It contains an Azide moiety that can undergo a copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing an Alkyne moiety. It can also undergo a strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition reaction (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN moieties.
