Amylmetacresol

Amylmetacresol is an aromatic phenolic compound with antiviral characteristics, showing potential inhibitory effects on viral infections, including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Current studies suggest that its possible mechanism of action involves directly affecting viral envelope proteins or viral particles, thereby interfering with viral replication or the infection process. In addition, Amylmetacresol has certain research value in local inflammatory conditions of the throat and can be used to investigate its potential role in alleviating local throat symptoms, as well as in controlling virus-induced damage to or infection of the throat mucosa.
